(The Truth of Heaven and Hell)
Heaven is the other afterlife Christians believe in, many Christians believe and teach that Heaven is a literal place where the immortal spirits of Dead Christians go and float on clouds, play harps, and eat grapes all day with Angels and God forever.
The most common perceptions of Heaven
Many Christians believe and teach Heaven is a literal place in the sky where the immortal spirits/souls of Dead Christians/Good people go to and relax all day in the clouds, praising God with harps, and floating around with the Angels forever. For many Christians who firmly believe in the reality of the Bible, this is the ultimate goal/reward of becoming a Christian: to go to this place, their true home. Many Christians look forward to finally going to this place after their death to be out of pain, have eternal joy, and to finally see God/Jesus face to face. Some Christians, However, don’t really look so forward to going to this place as much as others: floating on clouds, eating grapes all day while playing the harp, and praising God all the time sounds like a very boring place to go to (but still a better option than the other “afterlife”: Hell). Despite all this, there is also much confusion where Heaven is and even what it’s truly like:
Where is Heaven?
Like Hell, the location of Heaven varies from Christian (Human) to Christian (Human); some say Heaven is physically in the sky somewhere in the clouds, others say Heaven is nowhere near earth in an entirely other dimension in the spirit world or even on another planet in the universe!
What is Heaven like?
Also, the nature of heaven is heavily debated: while heaven is traditionally seen as a place in the clouds, since heaven is also thought of as not being on the Earth the nature of heaven would be different than just floating in the clouds. There might not even be no clouds and no relaxing all day but something more unimaginable than that!
Many modern (non-Christian) people scoff at such an unscientific and unreal belief that heaven is a literal place in the sky or somewhere else Where the Spirits/Souls of Christians/Good people go after death to float around in the clouds forever. This traditional scene of Heaven is often made fun of by many non-Christians in entertainment and referred to many times in cartoons and comics alike.
But the real question is this: Is this common human perception of heaven actually what the Bible says about heaven? We will now look at what everything the Bible has to say about heaven to see if this common human perception of heaven is truly what God’s word describes heaven as. So what does the Bible have to say about Heaven?
